The skinny on Coffee Bean ÷ Tea Leaf (and we don’t mean skinny latte!):
- Only uses stainless steel steamer tubes (no plastic touching your hot drinks!)
- Organic coffee served all day
- Organic soy-milk option
- Hormone-free milk from Altadena, (unlike Starbucks’s Monsanto-bought rBGH & carcinogenic Glyphosate-ridden death-milk; but unfortunately this is not organic)
5. Displays beautiful artwork made by local schoolkids
6. Serves coffee in a nice, tall tempered glass if you’re dining in
7. No prop 65 warning (no super-high-heat prepared/acrylamide-laden food or drinks!)
8. Much more space & not crowded (you can hear yourself think & get more work done)!
9. The service people & manager are not only friendly, but will actually chat about organic & plastic-free company policies & what’s going to change in the coming year at their company
- The background-music is kept at a low volume & isn’t annoying top-40-type noise
- Offers you 10% off in exchange for your junk e-mail address
- Chobani brand coconut flip Greek yogurt – yum!
- Martinelli’s brand apple juice in glass & San Pellegrino in cans (not plastic bottles)
-
Easy-to-read menu with a ton of coffee & tea options (we can barely read the poorly designed Starbucks menu – it throws us into a vortex!)
- Happiness is achievable here. What we mean by that is, after going to Starbucks, you will find this place akin to heaven itself for paper-writing, rest, meeting friends, & other activities.
We give Coffee Bean ÷ Tea Leaf a:B on our Price-O-Meter. Everything here is about the going-price, leaving SAVINGS to be desired. Since it’s not a mom & pop shop, we’d like to see Coffee Bean lower its prices to show Starbucks that it’s not only better, but also more affordable.
In conclusion, support Coffee Bean ÷ Tea Leaf instead of Starbucks.
